Scisme, m. penac. Est division de ce qui est un en deux ou plusieurs differentes parties et sectes. Quintilian parlant de la separation faite de la philosophie avec l'art oratoire, qui auparavant n'estoient qu'un, Scidit deinde se studium. Il vient du Grec {{t=g}}skhidzô,{{/t}} dont part {{t=g}}skhisma.{{/t}} Toutefois le François ne prononce pas Schisme. L'Espagnol dit Cisma, et est ce mot approprié aux romptures, divisions et mespartemens qui adviennent au fait de l'Eglise et des Ecclesiastiques, Schismata.
